The U9 is the first Canadian-built spray drone to carry a full-width boom on a wing. Twenty-six gallons, a 38-foot swath, and 135 acres an hour at two gallons to the acre — planned and flown by software we wrote ourselves.

The U9 was designed with large-scale helicopter and drone operators, to fill the gap between them and capture the best of both.

Built for spray

The U9’s wing design mirrors the way helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft apply product, delivering a consistent droplet size and pattern across the full swath. Conventional drones carry product to the target on rotor downwash instead.

Link Mode

The U9 intelligently plans and pairs with other U9s, so one operator runs several aircraft at once — no manual workarounds, no added complexity.

Four rotors up. One wing forward.

It lifts straight off the headland like a multirotor, then tilts forward and flies the mission on the wing. No runway, no launcher, no compromise at either end.

The wing

Carries the aircraft in forward flight, so the rotors are not fighting gravity the whole time it is airborne.

It sees the whole job, and everything standing in it.

360° LiDAR and machine vision are on every U9 at the base price. The aircraft builds its own picture of the ground and what is on it, rather than trusting that the map is current.

360° LiDAR
Continuous ranging in every direction. It holds height above the crop instead of above sea level, so it follows rolling ground the way you would.
Machine vision
Runs on the aircraft, not on a link back to the ground — because decisions cannot wait on connectivity that rural work does not have.
Detects and avoids
Downed trees, power lines, poles, pivots, standing equipment, people. The aircraft works around what is actually there.
Included, not an upgrade
The full sensing stack ships on every U9 at the base price. Nothing to specify, nothing to add later.

Eight years in the making, and protected.

The U9 is the result of more than eight years of research and development, built on a patent that is ours. This is not a first attempt at a spray drone.

That time went into one problem: putting the lift and the consistent spray pattern of a winged aircraft into a machine that still has the flexibility of a drone. Take off vertically from the edge of the job, fly the mission on the wing, come back to the same spot. Getting both halves of that right is what took eight years.

The way this aircraft lifts off and then flies forward on the wing is ours, and it is protected. Not licensed, not copied.
Our own software
Flight planning and fleet coordination are written in house, not licensed in. When the aircraft changes, the software changes with it.
